About Me
I have always been intrigued how a photograph can capture a moment in time, a mood, or tell a story. I have assisted photographers in Ireland , Liverpool and finally London, acquiring many skills that are needed as a wedding photographer until I felt I was ready to take the plunge and go it alone.
In contrast to a traditional wedding photographer, a wedding photojournalist works unobtrusively to capture the “real life” flavour of the special event as it unfolds. I personally shoot mostly with a reportage style, but I mix this with a blend of traditional and posed images. I also try to work in some “wow” high fashion style photography as well. I believe that every wedding and event is a unique celebration and I reflect that by offering a service tailored to your needs.. Ultimately however, I work with you to get the final “mix” just right, but my aim is for a contemporary rather than a traditional look. I want to be able to tell the story of your day in pictures, and ensure everyone has a relaxed and fun time doing it. There are many different ways we can showcase your wedding photography. Some couples would like just a DVD of all the images- others love the feeling of a hardback book that is easy to store and easy to pull from the shelves, others like a premium leather album. All this and more can be discussed in the initial meeting and I can cater to anything you would like for your day.
I completed a Masters in Photojournalism from University of Westminster London. And if you would like to view some of my documentary work please view: www.debbiecastro.com
